When celebrities say they are looking for privacy they usually mean they are looking for more publicity of something that should be private, like the birth of a child or a wedding. So when we heard that actress/singer-songwriter Mandy Moore and alt-country demigod Ryan Adams had gotten hitched in a private ceremony in Savannah, Georgia, we were like, yeah, sure, riiiiight. There were probably 400000 photogs who just happened to have the address and time emailed to their blackberries right before the ceremony started. We are now officially ashamed of such cynical thinking. (Her next album, Amanda Lee, doesnt even come out until May. There is officially no PR value to this happening at this time at all. Its real life!) Turns out the couple, who recently got back together and then got engaged shortly thereafter, actually did want to be alone on one of the most important days of their lives. They got married in a small church, accompanied only by a pastor theyd just met, and they didnt even change out of their usual outfits; Moore wore a simple white dress and sandals, Adams wore skinny jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt with a tie.
